Thanksgiving Flowers

What a difference one year makes in learning how to decorate. Last year's attempt to place a bouquet of flowers inside a white pumpkin turned into an epic fail. And it was a gift for my mother-in-law to be! This year the flowers turned out much better, and while I spent $12 on last year's flowers from Walmart, I spent only $1.50 each on 2 bouquets from Kroger on Manager's Special.

Last year's FAIL. If you're going to do this, make sure your white pumpkin doesn't heavily resemble a honeydew melon.

This year's SUCCESS. The flowers were placed in a small jar inside of the bigger vase, and then the vase was filled with miniature pine cones I picked up in the woods. Much better this year and less expensive.

Bridesmaids Boxes

Today I finished my bridesmaids boxes. I've been seeing all of these cute wooden boxes on pinterest filled with trinkets that brides are giving to their bridesmaids as a way to ask them to be part of the wedding party. Shipping costs alone on the wooden boxes would be a nightmare, so I made mine out of large match boxes from the dollar tree.

Supplies- cream silk for making flowers, floral kraft paper (got mine at dollar tree), grosgrain ribbon, pearl colored paint, dove hole punch (martha stewart at michael's) and whatever you want to put inside the boxes

These ones are for my sisters

Have to add in beading

I created miniature Style Me Pretty boards to go inside the boxes featuring aspects from my dream wedding

I also added in dove confetti, photos and a letter

And we're done. Hope the girlies enjoy their little boxes!
